Richard is a sound designer and composer for video games, film, and all forms of visual media. A classically trained violinist and violist, Richard has been studying music since age five in a wide variety of genres and musical styles.

At the present, Richard is completing his Bachelors of Music degree at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. He is pursuing dual major degrees in Film Scoring and Electronic Production & Design , with minors in Acoustics & Electronics , Audio Design for Video Games , and Video Game Scoring .

Currently Richard is working as a composer and sound designer on the video game Planeshift. Richard also worked this summer as assistant and intern to film composer Lucas Vidal at Music and Motion Productions. Screen credits include The Raven (starring John Cusack) and The Cold Light of Day (starring Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver).

EXPERIENCE

Born in Detroit, MI and raised in Southern California, Richard is an accomplished violinist and violist who began studying Classical violin at age five. In addition to Classical, he specializes in the Celtic, Jazz, and Bluegrass styles.Richard has studied privately with renowned violinists and fiddlers including Matt Glaser, Darol Anger, Richard Greene, William Fitzpatrick, Harry Scorzo, Jan Tappan, and Mimi Rabson.Further, Richard has performed and recorded with numerous ensembles in a wide variety of settings. Recently Richard performed as a soloist with acclaimed violinist Mark O'Connor and the Berklee World String Orchestra.At the present, Richard is completing his Bachelors of Music degree at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. He is pursuing dual major degrees in Film Scoring and Electronic Production & Design, with minors in Acoustics & Electronics, Audio Design for Video Games, and Video Game Scoring.Though playing music is a transcendent experience in and of itself, Richard's true love of the art lies in the forms of composition and the creation of aural textures, specifically for visual media.
